Find out how we collaborate to achieve phenomenal fabrication and assembly results for every precision metal fabrication customer.

In-House Assemblies—Optimized

When we talk about optimization, we’re talking about identifying solutions for making your project more manufacturable, less expensive, and ultimately higher quality. How do we do it? Let’s look at a couple of recent examples from our New Hampshire metal fabrication shop.

Complete customization costs less

Customers commonly assume that having us rework an off-the-shelf product will be cheaper than getting it made in-house. This is almost never the case.

We regularly get asked to rework ready-made sheet metal enclosures into chassis. However, the Sweeney team can fabricate your complete chassis design from scratch with significantly higher quality and for less money.

Why won’t reworking an off-the-shelf enclosure save you money? Because the rework cost is actually higher than the cost to custom fabricate a chassis from the ground up. Adding insult to injury, most off-the-shelf enclosures arrive with quality issues that cost even more to resolve.

Our recommendation? Skip the mass-produced box. Have Sweeney make the entire chassis for you, and you’ll receive higher quality at a lower price.

In-house hardware shortens lead times

Another misconception among customers is that commercial hardware streamlines the assembly process. In truth, off-the-shelf hardware can cause more problems than it solves.

When one customer requested 30,000 mass-produced latches for their box assemblies, a supply chain issue stood in the way. Only 10,000 of the off-the-shelf latches were available, so we designed and machined all 30,000 latches ourselves. Problem solved.

Our customer received their completed assemblies on time, with top-quality latches and no additional costs incurred.

Total Assembly Solutions—on Your Terms

Electromechanical Assembly

Our shop operates on a "collaboration-first" model, meaning we work directly with you to determine when and where to implement an optimization solution.

With your consent, we maintain close control over every aspect of your job’s precision metal fabrication and assembly, ensuring a finished product that meets even the rigorous quality standards of our customers in the military and aerospace sectors.

Our team’s commitment to quality is precisely why you should leverage Sweeney’s assembly services and not stop at parts manufacturing. As your project’s single source of truth, Sweeney can ensure total product functionality, aesthetic appeal, and budget alignment.

In-House Electromechanical Assemblies—Collaboratively Crafted

Sweeney’s acquisition by GTR Manufacturing is a game-changer for our customers who need electromechanical assemblies. After completing your precision metal fabrication services, we can integrate power supplies, cables, and harnesses. These end-to-end solutions are available for even high-volume productions!

Meticulous testing elevates quality assurance

Thanks to our union with GTR, you can request a full range of electromechanical testing. We’ll validate the mechanical and electrical components of your system prior to delivery so you know you’re getting a perfect end product.

Ask your Sweeney representative about:

  • Continuity testing

  • High-potential (hi-pot) testing

  • In-circuit testing (ICT)

  • Functional testing

Our increased capacity simplifies your workflow

Take assembly work off your team’s task list and let us deliver fully assembled products to your door—in whatever quantity you require.

High-quantity assembly orders may be a logistical nightmare for some sheet metal shops, but our expanded assembly capabilities allow the Sweeney team to manage higher-volume orders without compromising on quality. Whether you need a single assembly or tens of thousands, you'll receive the same meticulous attention to detail we’ve always promised and provided.

Sweeney’s Customer-Centric Focus—Renewed

Yes, we've expanded our sheet metal shop‘s capabilities, but don't think we’ve forgotten who put us on the map: you, our valued customer.

Our commitment to collaborative work hasn’t waned. We’re still on hand to brainstorm ideas, and we’ll gladly offer our expert guidance for improving any end product. Plus, with mechanical and electromechanical assembly capabilities, we can handle your complete project on a single purchase order.
