ITAR Announcement

In the attempt to abide by ever increasing government regulations regarding the manufacture and exporting of Defense related items, Sweeney Metal Fabricators, Inc. has applied for, and received an International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Registration number.  ITAR is a set of United States government regulations designed to control the information and materials of military related technologies. ITAR ensures that military technologies are only shared with US nationals and persons with special exemption from the Department of State. Upon verification of a company's ITAR compliance, an ITAR Registration Code is assigned and certifies the company's clearance to work in conjunction with the US military and its counterparts. Additionally, ITAR certification expresses the company's obligation to handle ITAR protected products while abiding to all ITAR regulations.  Sweeney Metal Fabricators, Inc. has set in place, all proper document and material handling procedures to ensure full compliance with ITAR. These are some examples of the steps we have taken:

- We have ensured that we employ only permanent US Residents

- We have compiled a list of ITAR compliant suppliers to handle ITAR sensitive data

- We have established an ITAR compliant document control program

- We have segregated ITAR sensitive electronic data off of our internal network

The ITAR certification specifically demonstrates that Sweeney Metal Fabricators, Inc. has met requirements pertaining to organization structure, documentation, corporate policy, training and procedures to permit it to handle, use and transfer information controlled by ITAR and the U.S. Munitions List. Moreover, this demonstrates that Sweeney Metal Fabricators, Inc. has the knowledge and understanding to fully comply with the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations as well as having corporate procedures and controls in place to ensure compliance.  Sweeney Metal Fabricators, Inc. has assigned the duty of ITAR Administrator to Chris Sweeney.
